The 1973 BMW 3.0 CS is a highly revered luxury grand tourer, born from BMW’s iconic "E9" coupe series. Featuring a potent 3.0-liter inline-six engine, sleek pillarless styling, and a refined cabin, it solidified BMW's reputation for crafting elegant, performance-oriented automobiles.
The lineage of the 3.0 CS dates back to 1962, which eventually led to the release of the 2800 CS in 1968. By 1971, BMW enlarged the engine to create the legendary 3.0 CS (carbureted) and 3.0 CSi (fuel-injected) models.
This CS Coupe shows 25,567 miles and is fitted with a duel Weber carburetor, M30B35 3.5 liter in-line 6 and 5 speed Getrag 265 manual transmission. The well documented rolling restoration including pictures and receipts shows the body taken to bare metal with an engine bay repaint. Finished in Fjord Blue over a newly upholstered saddle leather interior, this car is equipped with a limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes, upgraded suspension and all associated components, stainless steel exhaust system and air conditioning.
The car left the factory finished in the Fjord blue and had its major restorations from 1995 to 2007 and then again in 2011.
Every automobile is a rolling canvas — a record of craftsmanship, engineering, culture, and the people who preserved it.
Artisan Autos 356, LLC was founded out of an appreciation for classic automobiles as timeless works of rolling art. Each unique automobile, irrespective of its make, serves as a rolling canvas, showcasing the artistic craftsmanship and ingenuity of its time. It is said that modern cars are marvels of technology, but vintage automobiles were something entirely different.
These automobiles reflect a tradition of passion, artistry, and extraordinary attention to detail. Early artisanal automobile exteriors took on elegant flowing body lines with stunning high-gloss paint trimmed in gleaming polished chrome. Coachbuilt bodies and hand-stitched upholstery showcased exceptional craftsmanship. These early artists and designers paved the way for today’s automobiles.
At Artisan Autos 356, LLC, we share a passion for automotive heritage and the enjoyment these remarkable vehicles bring.
Whether you are looking to acquire, sell, consign, or discuss a specific automobile, we welcome a thoughtful inquiry.
